Pro series: SOLID SCAN 3000

In modern wood processing, the key to efficient and high-performance production is the automation of defect detection. Here, an upstream scanner forms a central component of the entire cross-cut or sorting system. The models of the SOLID SCAN 3000 series detect wood defects on softwood or hardwood in a flash and feed one or two optimizing cross-cut saws at full production speed. In addition to knots, wane, holes, and blue stain, resin pockets and angle cracks are also reliably detected.

The SOLID SCAN 3000 series combines the sensor package of the next higher series with nearly identical detection accuracy, delivering exceptionally strong performance.

Even under the previous product name EasyScan Smart, these scanners were our best-selling models. For even higher speeds and strength requirements, our Ultra series SOLID SCAN 4000 is available to you.

  • Do you want a higher wood yield or more good parts?
Thanks to the sensor package of the highest performance class, the 3000 series achieves significantly better results and surpasses any manual inspection and marking as well as most scanner systems.
  • Do you need or want to reduce your operating costs?
The labor-intensive manual marking is completely eliminated and almost all surface defects are still reliably and accurately cut or sorted. This noticeably reduces personnel requirements while maintaining consistently high or increasing product quality.
  • Do you need maximum flexibility in production?
You can manufacture numerous qualities and product variants in parallel, without conversion effort and at high speed.
  • Do you want to achieve peak productivity?
With a WEINIG scanner system of this series, you achieve full automation of your optimization line. With highly precise automatic defect detection, a consistently fast and efficient throughput is always possible.

WEINIG SUCCESS STORY: Masonite Chile

Masonite has been one of the largest and most important door manufacturers worldwide for over 90 years. The company is now active in over 80 countries and has factories on a total of five continents. The Chilean site, founded in 1998, mainly produces doors for the American market and has relied on WEINIG since 2020/2021.

As standard sensors, our laser and color cameras are installed in every system, with the sensors of the 3000 series offering even more performance and very good resolution. With the fastest speed available on the market, they guarantee the best results. Continuous development of this industrial sensor system ensures performance is constantly increased.

The sensors enable the detection of defects such as knots, pith, holes, and wane. Cracks and resin pockets and even angle cracks are also reliably detected.

All sensors are protected by a dustproof housing.
